Alex Fletcher waits for life.
One more year and he can move away, stop wearing hoodies to hide the bruises, self-inflicted scars and his sexuality.
No one knows him, no one sees him, until Chris Bacon shows him how to laugh, dance, live life in the moment, out and proud.
The lesson that life is too short hits harder than one of his dad’s punches.
Living the dream, being visible, is a step too far without chemical help.
Doctor, paramedic, drug counsellor, Nate is haunted by the brother he failed to save.
Brining Alex back to life on the floor of a gay nightclub is only the first step.
Peeling away the layers to find the real Alex means blurring the lines between age, upbringing, social position and the patient/doctor relationship.
Is Alex worth wrecking his career and giving up his addiction of saving lives?
Contains possible triggers for drug use, domestic abuse, self-harm and social anxiety.
Emma Note: After adding him in Optical Illusion, Alex just had to have his own story.
Let me know if you'd like a story from any other characters POV in the series.

Nate and Alex were two of my favorite side characters form the first two books and their story takes place during the events of book 2 for the most part.
My God this book made me cry like a baby. Big, ugly tears. I didn’t think it would be possible but I actually liked it even more than the first two books and I gave them both five stars.

There are books I read as fast as I can because I love them, and there are books, like this one, that I read as slow as I can because I never want to say goodbye to them. I read, stop, think of what I just read, and reread. It took me a lot to read it because every moment of it was just so precious.
5.0 out of 5 stars All the feels!!

This was one of those "what the heck did I just read" and "how can I get more" moments. Seriously! If you've been following this series, then you've already met Alex and Nate. Alex, sweet, talented, invisible. There's a reason for why he likes to remain invisible, a very dark reason. Nate, doctor, counselor, and all around great guy. I do want to know all what he has in his closet though! Call me intrigued! This book had my "feels" all over the place. I'd pay close attention to the author's notes about the triggers. This book will not be for everyone. I have become a huge fan of Emma Jaye's complicated characters and cannot wait for what comes next. I totally loved this book and do recommend it if you love complicated characters as much as I do.
As you can see, I had a lot of fun making teasers for Alex!
